Thank you to everyone for maintaining COVID Restrictions which enable us to continue and enjoy dancing in Bundaberg.  Bundaberg has been very fortunate in being able to maintain “business as usual”.

Looking back over some planned events:-

Matthew has again postponed his Anniversary of 20 Years of Calling due to COVID restrictions.

The State Convention in Hervey Bay has been cancelled.  However, Hervey Bay are willing to host dancing but not now in the same format that has been happening in past years, or even in the same form that Hervey Bay so meticulously planned to suit the restrictions presently in place - BUT Hervey Bay will adjust – See attached email of the new program.

If you are able to travel for those dances, it would be nice to support Hervey Bay Club.

We hope you are again enjoying the break for Supper with Jo Lester at the helm.  Disposable cups and packeted biscuits will continue for hygiene purposes due to COVID Restrictions.

Our Annual Heart Dance was successful again this year.  $197.00 was raised through the Raffle, Donations and Admission.  A Donation of $200.00 will be sent for the Heart Support Walking Track committee.

A big “Thank You” to our expert sewer Jo Read for remodelling some of the donated Square Dance clothing to make them more suitable for present members to use.

Our learners who have completed full Mainstream and SSD (Club 50) levels will now join in Friday night dancing.  Matthew will concentrate on Plus movements on Tuesday 17th and 24th August to complete the Plus learners program.

To accommodate all three levels of dancing (Mainstream learners, Mainstream and Plus) on Friday nights, we request dancers arrive at 6.15 for a prompt 6.30pm start.

Please note in your calendars the following Theme Nights which have been planned.

GRADUATION NIGHT with a convention dress theme - Friday 27th August

A special dance for our graduating members.

As Hervey Bay is not hosting the State Convention, it was suggested our Club hold its own special night to dress up in clothes you would have worn if attending the convention. Some of our members were planning to attend this Convention for the first time so let's make it a fun night for all.

NEW LEARNER'S CLASS – Tuesdays 31st Aug – 7th Dec.  6:15 for 6:30pm start – 8:30pm

Please think about who you can invite to join in these new classes.

CALLER CHALLENGE - “Peg It and Not Call It” - 17th September

Let's work Matthew harder than usual. Peg note papers to a line with Movements. Matt will make random selections and not be able to call what is written on them.

REQUEST NIGHT - 22nd October

What special songs would you choose from Matthew's long list of Square Dance Music?

Requests to be advised 1 week before that night.

RETRO NIGHT - Turntable with vinyl records. - 12th November.

Matt will go “old school” with his large collection of vinyl square dance records.

FREE ANNUAL DISTRICT CHRISTMAS DANCE and CLUB BREAK-UP – 10th December with newest learners included.

From your Committee –

Matthew, Jo Kronk, Jo Read, Jo Lester, Marilyn & Pam
