Highlights this year have been the number of new learners join us and seeing our previous “Club 50” learners moving on with the Mainstream program. The Plus learners are also coming along in their training.
Thanks to all involved with the demo at the PCYC and Yandaran School this year.
Theme nights this year have included our 36th Birthday, Mad Hatters, Dance for Heart, Come as a Song, Christmas in July, Pirates and the Friday 13th Black & Gold with a farewell for Eric and Katherine.
Our local dance event with Nev and Bev McLachlan as guest callers was a great success with all dance levels catered for.
Those of us who travelled to events this year enjoyed the 60th National Convention in Deloraine, Tasmania and the Queensland State Convention in Rockhampton.
Our regular Friday night dancing has also been fun with dance and friendship with some joking around, a bit of spontaneous poetry and a memorable moment when a cockroach met with one of the ceiling fans.
Sandy has been busy printing signs and has made some pink sashes in case some of the men want to have a go as right hand dancers.
Thanks go to everyone that has been part of the supper roster this year for our Friday nights and those who helped with events.
Thankyou to all the committee and especially to Matt.
Our website Blog has had a facelift this year with regular new stories, photos and videos being added.
A new calendar has been added and a story link between the blog and our Facebook site. Keep watching the site over the break as I will add more to keep it active.

We look forward to starting back in February. Tuesday Learners start on the 4th and the Friday Mainstream / Plus group on the 7th.
Our big local Dance Event in 2020 will be in October 23rd –25th at Coronation Hall, 71 High St, Walkervale. We will be celebrating Matthew Mills calling square dancing for 20 years.
We have a special guest caller from Perth and a number of visiting dancers already plan to attend.
STAN’S PLAN
Stan the man had a plan to find a
lady named Jan
And so his ‘Jan Journey’ began
He travelled the land searching for
Jan
He spotted one who had a fabulous tan
Then one holding a colourful Toucan
And another one sitting on a divan
But his dream was to find a Jan with
a fan
When he stopped off at the Pub for a
can
He questioned every man about Jan
“I will do what I can” said one man
“But I’m sure she’ll only want a
sober man
And I’m certain not a man with a can”
So he left our land and ended up in
Japan
But instead of finding Jan with a fan
He found Jan toiling over a frying
pan
Singing love songs to another man
That’s when Stan changed his plan
And decided to look for a girl named Fran
And decided to look for a girl named Fran
Or maybe even one with the name of
Dianne
The last we knew of Stan and his plan
to find a woman
Was that he is happy and living life
as a single man.
