November 2021 Newsletter
CHRISTMAS BREAK-UP - 10th December is not far away now. Jo Lester would like to make it special this year with some “Christmas Treats” and is watching the regulations regarding food procedures and will work out some way to do so. We planned to include the new learners on the final night and will see what numbers can be accommodated within our hall limits.
A Christmas Hamper is being organised for the night and contributions of items for it would be appreciated from members. They need to be supplied by Friday 3rd December please.
Let's dress up for the theme of the night.
PUBLICITY – Have you been checking on Facebook, and Club Blogspot to see what Jo Read has inserted to promote our Club on the website. Jo has been taking her computer to dancing nights for those who may not have seen the sites mentioned. Well done Jo.

We hope those dancers who have moved up to Friday dancing will continue to enjoy learning new movements to complete their higher level of Square Dancing.
The proceeds from “Heart Night” have now been donated to “Bundaberg Health Promotion for Heart Health”. It is nice to see the money used locally.
COVID RESTRICTIONS - This year has been tough with changing rules for Covid-19 for Square Dancing. The committee would like to thank all members for being agile and assisting us with the little changes that we were required to make. As you are aware, QLD health has advised there will be further changes to the rules when QLD hit 80% double vaccination and the borders get opened up. At this stage, we are unsure what this means for our activity however we will be monitoring the situation over the coming weeks so we can guide you all accordingly. In the interim, it would be fair to say we expect changes to the rules and when the change happens, it may be quick. We would like to remind all members that the committee has an obligation to make sure we comply with all QLD health rules for all dance sessions (Tuesday, Friday & Sunday) in order to prevent anyone being fined. We know this past two years has been tough with these rules, but we thank you for all your support.
1ST AID FOR CLUB - A member suggested that a Defibrillator be purchased for our club for emergencies due to the average age of Club members.
After discussion, the Committee decided to enquire which members have current or lapsed 1st Aid training and would be willing to exercise their skills when an emergency arises.
If there are not enough willing members, then the Club proposes to pay for 1st Aid training for the required number of members.
This will be our last Newsletter for this year. We wish you all a Happy Christmas. Stay Safe and come back again next year for more “Friendship set to Music”
From your Committee – Matthew, Jo Kronk, Jo Read, Jo Lester, Marilyn and Pam.
