1920s Theme Nights, October 2026

This months 1920s theme nights were held on Tuesday 13th and Friday 16th of October 2026.

Dancers enthusiastically adopted the extravagant and glitzy Roaring Twenties fashion. 


Ladies wore the drop waist style of the era with embroidered lace, fur and feathers.  


Flapper dresses with fringes, sequins or beadwork were accessorised with hats or headbands and long strings of pearls or glamorous Art Deco necklaces. 


The men, also dressed in style with fedoras, waistcoats, ties and suspenders. 

A number of our Tuesday night ladies also embraced these outfits.

We all had a great experience with Matt experimenting with some new Swing Jazz dance music.

End of Year Christmas Dance 2025

For the first time, our end of year Christmas Dance was held on a Tuesday, which will continue as our New Mainstream program night in 2026. It was a great atmosphere with the hall decorated, Christmas themed outfits and regular Friday night dancers attending. We had three squares on the floor most of the night with our new learners, with plenty of fun and laughter. Our new 2025 leaners have completed more than 30 of the 50 movements, giving Matt plenty of variety to keep us all dancing on the night. To give our new leaners more dancing time in the new year, we will delay the start of our next leaners class till mid year, with just the one intake of new leaners in 2026. Keep an eye on our website for updates. Old Mainstream level dancers will be able to dance the new program in 2026 on Tuesdays and continue with the Old Mainstream program, at least until the QLD State Convention to be held in Deception Bay on the 7th, 8th and 9th of August 2026. Black Friday, October 2025

We got a do over of our Black Friday theme night on the 31st of October. Some adding a little Halloween flavour to the standard, Dress in Black and confuse Matt. As always, we enjoyed our night of dancing. We even managed to get two squares on the floor at one point when everybody got up. I did get some video of the night but yet to finish editing. Black Fridays, Birthday Cake and a Flood

The 2026 calendar has given us extra Friday 13ths marking our traditional Black Friday theme. February we danced in our home hall at 89 Targo Street on Friday 13/2/26 with our Plus dancers alternating with the old Mainstream Program. Sunday 8th of March was our next theme dance with our 43rd Birthday Celebration for all dance levels at Kepnock Hall. See the previous story for more photos. Following the Birthday Dance we had planned to returned to our home hall for our regular Tuesday dancing. As a number of new dancers couldn't make the Sunday dance, Jo L had saved half our Club Birthday cake for them to share. Jo R was also going to take the clubs donated skirts in by request.  Monday, a major flood warning was in place for the Burnett River.  Just after 8:30am on Tuesday 10/3/26 Bundaberg Regional Council messaged people in Bundaberg North, South, Central and East to prepare to leave with the Burnett River expected to reach 7 meters by 3pm rising to 7.5 metres overnight.
